Peebrain replies on December 12, 2003, 4:43am:

This seems to be a common problem.

I will try to fix it in the next chat client release; until then you are out of luck. Sorry :-/. I don't know why it does that... yet Smile.

supermario asks on December 11, 2003, 8:06pm:

Is there a way to teleport?

Rainsong replies on December 11, 2003, 10:01pm:

Probably, but we do not know what it is.

SKainuiG asks on December 4, 2003, 8:32pm:

How long have people known about psi? It seems people have known about witchcraft for a while (not saying I believe in that or anything), but it seems kind of odd that I'm finding about it now, it seems like people would have already known about it.

Rainsong replies on December 10, 2003, 11:27pm:

The term "psionics" was coined in the middle of the twentieth century, with "psi" denoting the mechanism or mechanisms that allow such phenomena as telepathy and psychokinesis to occur. The phenomena themselves had been under investigation for much longer. Serious scientific investigation, state-funded in the Soviet Union and privately-run in United States, can be seen in the first half of the twentieth century. Less stringent studies pre-date those by a hundred years. This stuff isn't new. Interest in it isn't new. Popularity of the interest in it goes in cycles, it seems.

Short version: "people" _did_ already know about it. That is not affected by the fact that you personally encountered the concept only recently.

Barrier asks on December 9, 2003, 3:16pm:

When I focus on one spot to meditate should I blink or just stare at that spot? And after some time will my head be filled with random thoughts or should it be empty?

Rainsong replies on December 9, 2003, 10:22pm:

Blinking is good. It helps maintain the proper moisture in your eyes. Generally, random thoughts will show up. Complete emptiness is rare, especially without a lot of practice in meditation or related activities.

shaneo asks on December 2, 2003, 11:16pm:

I was curious on how you enhanced the images to show the psi. I would like to be able to do that too but i do not know how. So obviously my question is how do you enhance regular images to show the psi better?

CJspowers asks on November 30, 2003, 2:31pm:

this question has pondered me for some time now,is there/could there be a kinesis that is used to control water?not cerokinesis thats ice i mean just water it self as like to shape water and stuff like that?is there a name for it thank you for your time

Rainsong replies on December 1, 2003, 7:54pm:

Water is a physical substance, regardless of its state of matter: ice, steam, liquid, etc. Moving it psionically is indeed possible. It is called "psychokinesis".

psinoob asks on November 30, 2003, 8:52pm:

do you have to be a born knowing psi
or can you just learn.

Rainsong replies on November 30, 2003, 11:14pm:

You can learn from scratch. In fact, that has advantages over being "born with it", because your effort is in getting something to happen, rather than needing to _stop_ something from happening.

PSI_Fox asks on November 14, 2003, 3:38pm:

i have seen people talking about crystals/gems/and other minerals affecting Psi. do any of you know if any of that is true?

Peebrain replies on November 25, 2003, 1:12pm:

Yeap. I personally don't mess with them, but some other psions do. That doesn't mean that all claims about crystals/gems/whatever are true... there are some people out there that are just looking to make a buck... But, they do affect psi.

Psychicboy14 asks on November 18, 2003, 10:51pm:

After you get to know your subconsious mind, can you just tell it to do something and it will? Just wandering anyway.

Peebrain replies on November 25, 2003, 1:10pm:

Depends on what you tell it to do, and how obedient your subc is Smile.

For example, I can't exactly tell my subc to grow a new head. That's just impossible.

And I can't tell my subc to take over my body and do all my homework. "He" refuses Smile.

Your subc is just another part of you... it is powerful in a sense that it takes care of a lot of nitty gritty details about your body and how it interacts in the real world. But I can't be like "hey Mr. Subc, learn to play piano". I don't have that skill. I have to learn it, (i.e., teach my subc), then we have some data to work with. In the same regard, I can't tell my subc to "learn telekinesis", because it has no clue what I want.

I can, however, say:

Me: alright, you know how a telepathic link works, right?
Subc: yeah
Me: ok, create a link with my friend, and create a link from them to my other friend. Then make it when I send the information to my first friend, to bounce off of him, and go directly to my second friend.
Subc: ok, it'll probably take me 10 minutes
Me: ok, that's cool, let me know when you finish

Basically: I know how to make a telepathic link, so I could tell my subc how to use this tool that I've already learned in a more straight-forward mannor. If I didn't know how to make a telepathic link, my subc would reply "what the hell is a telepathic link?".

(This is turning into a long answer). Let me see if I can condense my meaning into one sentence Smile: You can tell your subc how to use and arrange current skills, but you can't tell your subc to do something that it doesn't know how to do.

Hope that helped Smile.
