Does hard work beat natural talent?
Personally, i'm naturally talented but really lazy... can't stand too much hard work (unless its a lot of pk) What do you guys reckon? ~ Wolverine |

It really depends on the individuals at hand. A person may be naturally talented, but if they never work they'll never get much better. One can work hard enough to surpass someone with natural talent, but I believe this may be a lot harder for some people. Hard work can beat natural talent, of course, it just may be really hard work - for some, if you don't work hard enough, you'll never even begin getting anywhere.
Then again, what do I know? ![]() |

I'm somewhat naturally talented but I don't have a lot of time to practice nor work effort so... I'm not too great but I'm definetly not newbish!
I would call myself... an experienced psion although not necessarily a uber-powerful psion. and I have come to the conclusion that I have at least some kind of natural inclination to psi considering the talent I have and the practice I put in. ^ the above post is not meant to sound boastful |

What sirius said. However some naturals have a tendency to be unable to control their ability.

Reminds me of a quote I heard in high school...
"Hard work without talent is a shame, but talent without hard work is a tragedy." Anyways, I think they both have the potential to "beat" the other one. It depends on how much hard work and how much natural talent. |

I think talent would be the better of the two.
Hard work gives experience. Sure, thats great, but it can be gained by anyone. Talent can't be gained, its just there. ~ Wolverine |

I'm thinking it's possible that Stormcloud here is suffering from what I like to call "True Skeptic's Syndrome."

I heard that with musicians, it's 80% talent and only 20% hard work. ![]() |
