Wu Chinese has more speakers than Cantonese, and I think there is more than just three variants of Chinese. There's Mandarin, Wu, Cantonese, and others. :\

HUZZAAA, heh, if psionics is the next step of evolution, I guess there would be no good reason to have a spoken language when telepathy and empathy is much more efficient. Although if people get, too advanced then there is no privacy for our mind and our thoughts.


You're assuming that language is unimportant with telepathy? On what grounds? From personal experience, I've found accents and language to be telepathically transmitted. Unless you're going to start communicating with only pictures...*shrug*

You make a great point. I wondered that myself. I didn't want to embarass anyone so I kept quiet Laughing. But also because I thought they'd explain some trick to it that would ironically make me feel like the stupid one. I also don't understand how empathy could be that specific. I'd rather just stick to spoken and perhaps a universal telepathic language on the side.
