![]() Wave Cancelling not only allows for the power to cancel out external noise but now it can make you invisible! The ability to do this is done using Quantum Mechanics and electron properties. Researchers at the Imperial College of London have done all the hard work to make this possible. The excerpt below is taken from http://www.royalsoc.ac.uk/exhibit.asp?id=4659&tip=1
Wow that's pretty impressive but I wonder if it's harmless? |

Awesome but it sucks at the same time. That means everyone can do it then. I wish we could only do it. Teee that would be fun! | ||

Its certainly some remarkable progress but I found the royal societies presentation of the story a little sensationalist, as if we are only a few years from being able to pick up a invisibility cloak.
This puts things a little more realistically http://www.telegraph.co.uk/connected/main.jhtml?xml=/connected/2006/06/27/ecinvis27.xml It is only very small, special objects for a miniscule period of time. Facinating, but your not likely to see anyone vanish as they don a cloak anytime soon. |
