As I was looking at the index, I decided to click on the newest person. I noticed that he had no posts. While this in itself wasn't odd, it made me think, how many people join then don't post? Or post a few times then stop?

I went through the member list and did some figuring.

At the time of the writing, 1666 (I didn't alter anything, it just came out to that number) members have posted 5 times or less, with the vast bulk of those in the never posted category. We currently have 2549 members. Here are the figures:

807 - 0 posts
290 - 1 post
221 - 2 posts
146 - 3 posts
109 - 4 posts
93 - 5 posts

I thought this was interesting, because that is over half of our registered users. If we define "active" as 6 or more posts, then we have less then 1000 active members. I know there may be some bans involved in the low posts, but I don't think there's that many.

Just some interesting numbers to chew on.

It's people with too much time on their hands that make the world work!

Tip of my hat to Madhatter.

You got that right Apollo. I am an intern. They give me maybe about 30 minutes of work a day. I have a computer with ridiculously fast internet.

Those factors combine to explain why I compiled those numbers. Actually, it only took about 10 minutes.

So what's your point?

Active or not, I'm still going to try my best to get to number one in total posts.

That's an okay strategy I guess. Mine is to get a small amount of posts, but then attack when nobody expects me...
