well I just had my first real lucid dream! I am SO HYPER AND EXCITED. I used the FILD technique, if you don't know what it is, I'll post it.
I did the technique for about 5 minutes, I think, and then I opened my eyes and looked at my clock.
It read:

1st:
2nd:
3rd:

Instead of 4:35 horizantally. I was like, wtf??!!! Shocked Confused , but I pinched my nose and I could breathe, so I didn't care what my clock looked like, I was lucid!! Then an invisible robot started lifting my foot up into the air like he was going to rip me in half. So of course I willed a gun to appear in my hand and blew him away. Then I got out of bed and tried teleporting somewhere where it was light, I thought of the beach for some reason and so I tried teleporting there. It didn't work. Then it faded into a visualization and I drifted to normal sleep.

The bad news? I didn't have very much control. It took me a couple tries to summon the gun and I couldn't teleport anywhere. I couldn't make people appear in my room or anything. And it was really short, but you kind of have to expect that with your first lucid. I forgot to spin around Embarassed does anyone have any tips on increasing control or teleporting?

I have never heard of the FILD technique, and I have heard of some pretty oddball techniques, like the BUBILD (Butt Ugly Beard Induced Lucid Dream...don't ask) What is FILD?

It's a technique where you stay focused on an action and therefore stay conscious and start dreaming about that action while you fall asleep. Then you are aware you are dreaming. link

Whoa, that is an odd technique. It reminds me of WILD. Seems pretty much the same except that you move your fingers instead of counting or repeating a mantra.

my advice? at least on the teleporting part, I use external references to help me. When I wanna teleport somewhere, I use "Instant Transmission" a-la dragonball z. Stick my fingers on my forehead, think about where I want to go, and I close my eyes. When I open them, I'm where I wanted to be.

it's a lot simpler, IMO. I like it better because it's easier to do.
