Just like most things in Psionics, it is it can be linked to Visualization. See a rope of energy comming from you to the object. Also, just focus on linking with the object. Clear your mind, then Just do it, and keep practicing, until you can Just do it every time. That is how I link with an object. Not neccesarily visualizing the object moving in my mind, but just Clearing my mind, knowing it needs to happen, and watching it happen. It takes a lot of practice, and a lot of focus. Everybody has their own style of doing it, depending on what comfortable for them. Try out some of the stuff I suggested, and hopefully it will help you link to the object, or atleast spark some more ideas.

Don't think about connecting with the object. Try to do it subconsciously, just think about the object only and what your objective is to do. I never bothered with this whole connecting with the object stuff.

But sending psi works too.

You are already "connected" to everything. Just try to perceive what is your influence over the object. Train your senses and learn to trust your feelings even if you don't understand them, at least for a while.

The "gnomish way" article in my experience describes this particular state very well. Have your (this sounds too easy) subconscious slide over all kinds of states until one matches the "move me around"-sensation, then stick with it. For me that does the trick, and its at least for me incredibly hard but very efficient to do. Once you had it, there is no doubt you had it.
