I do the same thing but not like I'm missing a step I'll be in a light sleep and will like well i'll give and example "I fell asleep in a car and for some reason I was dreaming about a cat on a tedder-totter, all of a sudden a dog comes running and jump on the tedder-totter and the cat come flying at my face with it's claws out and it's screaming basically and in freaks me the fuck out and i just justed awake."

Does that post come across as frantic to anybody else? I think it might be the lack of periods. There is only one when there should be about five. Please put some effort into your posts. |

Lol, I get those all the time right before I'm about to fall asleep, but for some reason I always seem to think I'm at the top of a roller coaster (right before the drop), and when I realize I'm not my whole body jumps... Startles the shit out of me.

Robert Bruces' explanation for this, in his book Astral Dynamics, discusses the astral body and its jolt back to the physical body. When you are 'dreaming' having an OBE during regular sleep which you are not concious of, and you encounter a potentially threatening experience, such as missing a step on a set of stairs, falling off a cliff, or what have you, the astral body is YANKED back to the physical body. when it reenters you jolt awake to make sure your physical body is still ok. this can also happen if you are concious and physical body starts to fall asleep to enter an OBE, the sudden rush of vertigo tricks your subconcious into thinking your falling and you have to jolt awake to get a grip on reality. im not 100% sure if i correctly restated his thoughts, they may have been intertwined with my own, but thats what i have come to believe.
