toothpicks are good, as you can get a wobble out of them after a week or two, i havnt tried it with empty soda cans yet, my advice is try to go for smaller things first, as theres less area of the object touching the surface you're practicing on, so there will be less resistance and friction. Smoothe surfaced pencils are also good to move, not the hexagonal ones though, you'll be there for ages lol.

ok, it took me a few days of solid practice to get my toothpick to budge, but then the pencil rolling was relatively easy, the hardest part of going from psi wheel to rolling toothpicks, soda cans or pencils is that you have to roll it, not spin it. It took me a while to get my head around that....

After the psi wheel I started spinning straws, although straws aren't recommended because of the static electricity they usually have. Try to spin foil on a desk, and the go on to rolling a pencil.

I just got the psiwheel to spin upside-down on my desk!

I'd recommend trying this because it uses the same movement (spinning) and helps build your strength before moving onto control with rolling.

Nice success. I used the foil folded longways before i started rolling. Same thing basically.

Just like when I first moved the psiwheel, I'm not sure anymore weather I did it. The window was open, and I could feel the breese, plus, usually the psiwheel just spins, it doesn't wobble, and it was wobbling. Sad

i dont get why its so hard to go from spinning to rolling....just because your rolling somthing instead of spinning, that makes it harder? jeez....

It's almost as though you're starting all over again. Remember when you had no idea how to spin the psiwheel, it's kinda the same, you have no idea how to roll instead of spin, and you're so used to spinning that rolling takes a lot of reprogramming.
