i've heard that OBE's are related to witchcraft, that witches do OBE's. is that true?

No, its not. Witchcraft can be considered as the manipulation of energy to do ones will. Or dancing around bonfires naked and eating unbaptized babies. It all depends on opinion and a persons own personal thoughts on it. (and I wasn't serious about the eating babies part, just for the record). But it doesn't mean that people who consider themselves witches don't do OBE's because they being involved with energy, and paranormal stuff, could be drawn into it. From experience, people who call OBE's and stuff witchcraft are just scared of the idea of it, thinks its evil, or are *slightly* religious.

You mean chakras? Chakras are....major energy points on the body I guess you could say. They represent parts of you in a way. They can be tuned, or activated or whatnot. Its not related to the occult. Related maybe to meditating monks, but not the occult.
In fact, nothing here can really be considered part of 'witchcraft' or 'the occult'.
But to really say that for sure you have to come up with your own thoughts about it. I get the feeling you've been talking to someone religious, or close minded.

i think you are confusing "cult" with "occult".

to the post starter: chakras CAN be considered part of the occult (almost everything spiritual can be). although you will find more information about them if you research hinduism/buddhism (specifically tantrism).

Sonkiova, if you didn't say it, I was going to... Yes, occult is the word that represents every single thing that isn't considered rational or natural. From psionics to witchcraft and magic, etc.

No. However, different types of practices might have different techniques, beliefs and theories on how an out of body experience are functioned. You do not have to involve "witchcraft" when dealing with an OBE.

OBEs can be created by stimulating certain parts of the brain. They're not really related to witchcraft. OBEs don't seem to be at all "paranormal" as they can be activated by a few relatively simple maneuvers. That belongs in another post though.

I also think that half of these posts should have been pm'ed to eachother. And by the way, OBE's are sort of bad because it is almost dealing with the Devil. I do it sometimes, but i sort of have a bad feeling that it is satanic or something. Just my opinion. Smile
