How about you do the same thing with the forum as the chat. Dont let someone post without 2 weeks of joining. Like them registering on this forum and then not being able to post for 2 weeks.

I'll go with it, but personally, I think they need to take a english test and a psionic test, that is automaticly graded by a score system and stuff, before entering.

Neither of those ideas suffice. How are you supposed to learn if you can't participate?

i agree sheep...2 weeks is a bit heavy but you have a good idea...maybe just a test over assorted stuff like education, why they're joining, how active they plan to be blah blah blah.........just a quick thought Confused

How can you participate in the Chat? You wait. If you are new to the forums, chances are, you are new to psipog. They can read the articles and can read the forums but cannot post for 2 weeks (or 1 week w/e)

You know, a general knowledge test would be useful as an authorization tool, maybe test them on some articles, to make sure they have at least looked up the article to find the answer to the question. That is the main problem of fluffs, no base of knowledge.

I like the idea of waiting 2 weeks. The reason I like it is because I tried it for the chat, and it works awesome. It eliminates 90% of the fluff.

To be more realistic though, I do want to allow people to still post. I think the best of both worlds would be the following idea: most of the forums require a 2 week membership, but one forum ("Newbies") allows for any member to post.
